How We Met

Jefferson

After a lot of traveling and nonstop work, I really just wanted to stay home and rest. But I couldn’t justify putting God second after prioritizing everything else, so I decided to go to church.

Tabata noticed me there. I had been coming for about a month already, just another new face. That day, her family happened to stay for potluck, and they ended up meeting me first. Her mom invited me to sit with them, and that’s when I met Tabata.

When we started talking, it felt like time stopped and every heartbeat could be heard — haha, not really. It wasn’t anything crazy or dramatic, just a real conversation, realizing we had a lot in common.

A few outings later, it was obvious — I didn’t want the conversations to end, and neither did she.

Tabata

One Sabbath at church, I noticed a new face but didn’t think much of it. Later at potluck, I found myself sitting at the same table, thanks to my parents’ invitation. As we talked, I was pleasantly surprised to learn Jefferson was Brazilian. What started as polite conversation quickly grew into something more — the more we talked, the more we realized how much we had in common.

From then on, every text and every conversation felt so easy, and time always seemed to fly by with Jefferson. Things came together so naturally — from the start, it felt right, and I could see God’s hand in it.
